My Essentials

Hello everyone,

As you probably saw on Instagram, on February 2nd the apartment building I live in caught fire.. it was a traumatic experience as I was inside and the first floor burned completely. No one got hurt and quite frankly, my house is ok all things considered, but because of the heavy smoke, I had to relocate to my mom's for the time being, until the cleaning crew does their job and makes the house inhabitable again.

It's difficult for me to return home for each little thing, so I treated the whole affair like going away in vacation and asked myself what would I need in terms of make-up/skincare so I drew up a list that I wanted to share with you as well, because it can come in handy. Also, it's keeping my mind off things so I'm happy that I still have my laptop and phone that I can keep in touch with you guys !

iD™-Dramatically-Different-Moisturizing-Lotion.jpg

The first thing I thought about was my face cream. I cannot live without.

The Clinique iD™ Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+™ with a Active Cartridge Concentrate™ for Fatigue (the orange cylinder that you can see in the photo that you can buy separately, in my case this was the orange one for tired looking skin).

I was always happy with Clinique's products and have been using this specific moisturiser for some years now. I also like Eucerin's Hyaluron-Filler range, also great for my skin.

L-Occitane-Immortelle-Precious-eye-cream.jpg

In terms of eye cream, I have received some months back the Immortelle Precieuse Eye Countur cream from L'Occitane en Provence.

I'm loving the deep moisturising sensation, which you can immediately feel from its texture. It's fantastic !

I'm very interested to try the other products of the Immortelle Precieuse range.

I went ahead and took my toothbrush, make-up brushes & sponges from Real Techniques and also my Olivia Garden hairbrush. Sadly, I learned soon after that these items need to be toss away because they were exposed to the smoke and this can be very bad for your health. So with a heavy hart I am not using them and will buy others just the same. I really love these items and it took me a long time to find such fantastic make-up brushes & sponges and also a great hairbrush. But luckily, they still have them in stock at Notino.

In terms of make-up, I only took my L'Oréal Paris Age Lipstick that's very hydrating, my NAKED eye shadow palette from Urban Decay, the Bourjois Healthy Mix mascara that I absolutely adore and my Super BB Cream from Erborian.Of course, now I'm using my fingers to apply make-up like 15 years ago :).

But hey, I'm happy I'm still here and that all will be fixed soon 🙏🏼

I hope you liked my article and that it can inspire you to do a list of your essential products to take with you for a trip.

Kisses,
